I’ve always known that the alphabet for children needs to be cohesive and consistent. Through experience and a lot of research on how kids master their letters, I now know that mastery occurs when the child knows 3 things about each letter…
1. Letter Name
2. Letter Sound
3. Letter Shape
The problem today is that the letter shape isn’t taught, which contributes to letter reversals in writing and reading. I dug and dug and couldn’t find any alphabets that really encouraged those 3 skills…so I created my own.
